TMI GOES ACADEMY OF MANAGEMENT

Academy of Management, Opening Governance, VancouverFrom August 7-11 our team of the TMI from ESCP Europe has attended the 75th Annual Meeting of the Academy of Management (AoM) in Vancouver. “Opening Governance” was the program theme of the biggest academic management conference with more than 10,000 participants. Speakers of international range and well known in the TM field such as David Collings (Dublin City University; Advisory Board of the TMI), Paul Sparrow (Lancaster University), Wayne Cascio (University of Colorado Denver), John Boudreau (Center for Effective Organizations), Jonathan Doh (Villanova University), and Patrick M. Wright (University of South Carolina) were present. Our academic director of the TMI Marion Festing was co-hosting a presenter symposium together with Lena Knappert (Ozyegin University Istanbul) on “Opening Organizations: Managing Diversity and Inclusion through HRM”.

There are a couple of major topics on the research agenda of TM scholars we could see emerging:

  • global talent management and insights from emerging countries (e.g. China, India),
  • diversity and inclusion aspects in talent management (addressing aspects of fairness, equity theory, managing untapped potential),
  • value creation in talent management and aspects of sustainability and long-term orientation
  • and TM metrics and ways to control and measure TM.

For more information concerning the symposium, please contact the TMI team; for general information regarding the AoM, have a look at their website.
