The Talent Management Institute at ESCP Europe, Ernst & Young (EY) and AVS – International Trusted Advisors have published a study on “External managers in family businesses. Recruiting and retaining top managers from outside the family”.
The study shows that where business, family and ownership are united, there is a special “family business spirit” which creates particular challenges but also opportunities in TM. The cultural fit between the family and the external manager is crucial for a successful and long-term relationship.
